WICHITA, Kansas — The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Department says four people have been arrested in connection to the shooting death of Jordan Turner.
Turner’s body was discovered by a farmer in an empty cotton field Wednesday morning near 127th Street East and Pawnee.
He had been shot twice.
“I’ve always said since the beginning of this, it was probably something senseless,” says Jordan’s father, Frank Turner. “Probably wasn’t even worth a life. And you know, there’s a sad element for the grief that I’m feeling for my son but there’s a sad element that you’ve got four individuals that are involved. You know I can just imagine the grief that their parents are going to have to go through.”
The sheriff’s department said a tip to Crime Stoppers led to the arrest of two men and two women.
“Somebody had a conscience,” says Frank. “And that was really big that somebody would have a conscience and they decided to come forward and were going to do the right thing.”
Frank reported his son missing on April 6, after Jordan left their home March 30.
Authorities say all the suspects are from Wichita. One has gang ties but police say Turner was not a gang member.
Turner was a star football player at Wichita South High, where he graduated in 2011.
