CINCINNATI (AP) – A police report states that other students began yelling as a 17-year-old boy pulled out a handgun in class before shooting himself in the head.

The Green Township police report was released Tuesday as students returned to La Salle High School the day after shooting. The boy remains hospitalized in critical condition.

Police say there were 21 other students in the classroom Monday morning. A teacher told police the youth struggled briefly with the handgun, then put it to his right temple and fired.

A spokesman for the all-male Catholic school west of Cincinnati says an all-school player service and discussion was planned Tuesday.
