BURLINGTON, Wisconsin (WTMJ) – A Goldilocks-like burglar is in jail after settling down in an office that was “just right.”

“He broke the window in a back conference room,” said realtor Justin Mueller about how a burglar broke into a Burlington, Wisconsin Remax office building.

The break-in involved alcohol, bearskin and a sleepy suspect.

“You can’t fix stupid. You can just arrest it,” said Mueller.

It was Friday morning.

Investigators say Christopher White broke into the office, grabbed three computers, set them outside the front door, then went back in for more.

They believe he went into the basement, pulled a bearskin off the wall, then fell asleep.

Employees showed up for work around 8:30 and realized there had been a break-in.

They looked around and called police.

“Nobody really knew that he was still in the building,” said Mueller. “The cop peaked through this window and there he was curled up on the bear rug, laying in this little area.”

Workers were told to get out of the building and a short time later, police took 26-year-old White away in handcuffs.

According to court documents, White admitted that he had gone out drinking the night before and that he was just cold and tired.
