Teen struck in the eye with an arrow

GREAT BEND, Kansas — The Barton County Sheriff’s Department says a 15-year-old teen was struck in the eye with an arrow.

It happened Saturday afternoon in the 1900 block of NE 130th Avenue.

Sheriff’s deputies say the boy was looking into a piece of six-inch pipe when at the same time his friend fired an arrow from the opposite end.

The arrow traveled the length of the pipe striking the boy in the right eye.

He was transported to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

His condition is not known.
