Wichita man scammed out of $4.5K

WICHITA, Kansas — Wichita police are investigating a scam where a man lost $4.5K in cash.

On Wednesday, a man was contacted by two men who asked for a ride near Douglas and Rock.

The victim drove the two suspects to a Bank of America where one suspect came out with $10K in cash.

The suspects told the victim that banks couldn’t be trusted.

The victim drove to his bank and withdrew $4.5K and gave it to the men with an impression that they would give it to charity.

The suspects then left with the money.

Police say the victim contacted them shortly after concerned.

Police say the suspects are both black males with a medium build.  They are approximately 55 to 60 years old.

They are possibly driving a four door Toyota Camry with out of state tags.
