WICHITA, Kansas — East High School students got a close look at what can happen when you drink and drive.

Realism was the key in getting the point across to the hundreds of teens.

The organizers made it as real-to-life as possible, with the victims covered in blood from injuries, and rescue crews rushing to the scene.

The key is to help the students understand the consequences of their decisions, especially this time of year.

“As we look at prom weekend, as well as the summertime coming on, we want them to be thinking about the choices that they make and that one small choice doesn’t have a huge impact on their future, Ken Thiessen, East High Principal.

The mock DUI was put on by the Wichita police and fire department, EMS crews, Eagle Med helicopter and a local funeral home.
