WICHITA, Kansas — After record cold and snow hit Kansas in the last 24 hours, improvement is on the way. Another chilly night is in store tonight into Thursday morning with patchy frost, but that should be the last shot for all but the northwestern part of the state.
By the weekend, highs will warm to the middle to upper 70s with lows in the milder 40s and 50s.
Another cold front will arrive around the first to middle part of next week, but it will be nothing like the last few fronts with highs only dropping into the 60s and 70s and lows into the 30s, 40s and 50s.
As far as moisture is concerned, there will be a few showers and storms around Thursday night into Friday with another chance next Tuesday.
If you have been waiting to plant the garden or crops, this weekend will be the weekend to finally get out there and turn over the soil.
