WICHITA, Kansas — A woman was taken to the hospital early Thursday morning after being shot in a home invasion.

Police say two men forced their way into a home in the 2600 block of N. Minnesota around 4:40 a.m. and several shots were fired.

Two adults and three children were inside. One woman was hit in the leg and taken to Wesley in serious condition by private vehicle.

“She was shot in the leg from the gunshots that were going through the residence. It went through a door and hit her in the leg,” said Lt. Doug Nolte, Wichita Police Department.

No one else in the home was injured.

Wichita police are still investigating and looking for the two suspects.
