Wichita Thunder take third game of playoff series

NORTH RICHLAND, Texas — The Wichita Thunder defeated the Fort Worth Brahmas three-to-nothing Thursday night taking a 3-0 lead in the best-of-7 Central Hockey League playoff series.

Torrie Jung was in goal for Wichita saving all 29 shots he faced improving his playoff record to seven wins and no losses.

Matt Robinson put the Thunder on the board at the beginning of second period. RG Flath picked up the assist.

In the final session Wichita scored twice with a goal from Les Reaney with less than seven minutes in the contest.

Matt Summers closed out the scoring late with an empty net tally.

Wichita will try for the series sweep Saturday in Texas. Game five, if necessary, of the series will be Sunday at Intrust Bank Arena. First faceoff is scheduled for 5:05 p.m.
