WICHITA, Kansas — One person is dead, and two more are injured after a shootout inside of a Wichita home.
It happened just after 9:30 p.m. Thursday in the 400 block of North Emporia.
When police arrived at the home, they found a 33-year-old man shot several times.
He died a short time later at Via Christi St. Francis.
Police say numerous bullets were fired inside the home.
A 29-year-old woman was grazed in the arm and a 22-year-old man was found at a home in the 1600 block of South Spruce.
Police say he was shot in the leg on Emporia before heading home.
Both of those two were treated and released.
Police say they were all in the home at Central and Emporia when three men were allowed inside around 9:30 p.m.
A short time later, bullets started flying.
“We do not know if the victim knew these suspects. We know they were allowed inside the residence, but we do not know if they knew them or how they knew them,” said Lt. Todd Ojile, Wichita Police Department.
Police aren’t releasing many details on the three suspects.
Detectives aren’t sure if the victims inside the home exchanged gunfire with the suspects.
They’re processing the scene now as they look for the shooters.
