IOWA CITY (KWWL) — Students living in the Mayflower residence hall on the University of Iowa campus woke up to a messy situation Thursday morning.
Overnight, mud slid into the parking lot located in the rear of the building.
“The mud was kind of a surprise when I came out, and there’s a big puddle of mud,” said student Mark Dorfman.
A residence hall coordinator says there are no reports of injuries.
“We’re trying to haul it out, and see what the situation is,” said Dave Ricketts, from University of Iowa Parking and Transportation.
The service road to enter the parking lot is blocked off because of the mud, and northbound lanes of Dubuque Street are also closed off due to standing water.
