Paul McCartney is taking a stand in support of tougher U.S. gun laws.

The Beatles legend recorded a message for “Voices Against Violence.”

The campaign was started by fellow singer Tony Bennett.

It encourages people to call their lawmakers and encourage them to vote for new gun legislation.

When U.S. callers text “myvoice” to 877877, they will hear McCartney’s recording before being connected to their local senate office.

Other stars, such as Alec Baldwin, Gloria Estefan and Josh Groban, have also joined the campaign. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
