WICHITA, Kansas — Storms rolled through parts of Kansas Wednesday leaving some rain. It’s much needed. But the next round of weather could include a freeze.
“The daytime temperatures in our area will be in the 30′s and we could have wind gusts up to 30 miles an hour or more,” says KSN Meteorologist J.D. Rudd. “So it will feel like it’s in the teens out there in some parts of the state.”
Rudd says there is a blessing to the storms that rolled through parts of Kansas on Wednesday.
“We need the rain,” says Rudd. “But we are still very, very far behind on moisture.”
The winter mix heading our way will be brief. After all, this is the middle of April.
“Those daytime temperatures will be cold, and feel even colder,” explains Rudd. “But, depending on the cloud cover Thursday, we may have the high temperature come late in the day, as late as midnight Thursday.”
