WICHITA, Kansas — Wichita police are trying to find out more about what led up to a woman being shot in her home in what she’s described as a home invasion.
The victim told police that two men broke into the home on 11000 West Hadden about 1:30 Monday afternoon.
The 29-year-old woman who lives there was armed, but reported that the intruders quickly turned the tables on her, and she was shot in the shoulder.
Officials are working to clarify the victim’s story at this time.
“This, this case is going to come down to, uh, a lot of probably forensic work and lab work, just reconstructing what she stated had happened,” said Lt. Doug Nolte, Wichita Police Department.
Officials say they don’t have any description of the suspected robbers.
Police are waiting for the woman to recover further before interviewing her.
