McPherson County man dead after a farm accident

MCPHERSON COUNTY, Kansas — A McPherson County farmer was found dead Friday evening.

Wayne Niehage, 66, was discovered by a family member pinned between the truck bed and the frame around 7 p.m. at his farm a few miles south of Moundridge.

Niehage was working alone on the truck hoist when it appeared to have malfunctioned and dropped on him.

McPherson County Sheriff Craig Hanson says the accident still is under investigation pending an autopsy report.
