Keeping an eye on Wednesday for severe weather chances

Wichita, Kansas — The week ahead is still looking unsettled with chances of showers, storms and even a wintry mix in places through the next several days. Wednesday is now looking like the best chance for some watches and warnings due to warm, moist air surging back north across eastern portions of the state. The highest chances of severe weather at this time appear to be southeast of the Kansas Turnpike. Since this is a developing and changing situation, be sure to check back often for forecast updates.

After the storm system exits, cooler air will spill in across the state and a frost and freeze are in store statewide by Friday morning. If you have tender vegetation, you will want to take precautions to protect it.

The weekend will see temperatures warming back to the 50s and 60s with another chance of some showers and storms in places.
