ORLANDO, Florida (WESH) — A confrontation at an Orlando, Florida school led to a woman being stunned with a taser on Wednesday.
A school resource officer with the Orlando Police Department said Latoyia Lane was out of control and resisting arrest.
The gun left scars on Lane, who said she was angered by the incident.
“Trust me. You don’t want to be tasered. You’re going to scream. You’re going to shout for mercy. I think it’s like being shot,” Lane said.
Lane said she and her family went to the school to stand up for her niece.
She claims the same police officer pushed her 14-year-old niece at a convenience store one month ago because the teen was acting up.
Lane said the officer went too far.
“He slammed my niece into a double glass (window), and it broke, and it shattered,” Lane said.
Lane claimed a picture of the shattered glass is proof.
“We asked the principal to keep him away from her, and that’s what made us come to the school,” Lane said.
Lane said the officer should pay for his alleged actions. She is charged with resisting arrest and trespassing and has filed a complaint against the Orlando Police Department.
