GREAT BEND, Kansas — It’s been three months since Cody Clark and Michael Tysver were severely injured in Arizona by a drunk driver.

The two 21-year-olds from Great Bend were crushed while riding in a pedicab.

Tysver suffered severe injuries to his spine and neck, but is back home in Great Bend recovering.

Clark is still in a Phoenix hospital in a coma with brain injuries.

He can’t eat or respond to commands.

His mother says his left side of his skull is missing, and doctors are planning to replace the bone.

“So that will stabilize and normalize his cranial fluid and the pressures in his head. He has excessive draining in his cranial fluid right now, and his shunt is going to be replaced. He’s still fighting, and we don’t know what his outcome is going to be. But you know we have faith, God’s going to heal him.”

Funds are set up to help Cody Clark’s family with medical expenses at the Credit Union of America branches in Great Bend and Wichita.
