WICHITA, Kansas — The mayors of Wichita and Louisville, Kentucky have entered into a good-natured bet over who will win Saturday’s Final Four game between the Wichita State Shockers and the Louisville Cardinals.
“As Kansas, we’re known for our beef and everything we have here, so we have some steaks, some filet mignons, strip steaks, a huge selection of steaks, so I’m willing to put those steaks up,” said Wichita Mayor Carl Brewer.
“I will only accept that if you throw in some of your famous barbecue sauce,” said Greg Fischer, the mayor of Louisville.

Brewer markets a product called Brewer’s Best Bar-B-Que Sauce.

Fischer put up a big selection of bourbon, including Wild Turkey, Maker’s Mark and Jim Beam.
Brewer insists he and the Wichita City Council members will be sampling that bourbon after Wichita wins Saturday.
The Cardinals are the top seed. The Shockers were a No. 9 seed.
