Shockers swept by Arizona State

WICHITA, Kansas — Arizona State scored four times in the first inning and defeated Wichita State 4 to 2 Wednesday night.

The Sun Devils jumped on top early with a Trever Allen bases-clearing triple. Allen had two hits in the game.

Trailing 4 to 1 in the sixth, Erik Harbutz led off with a double and scored on a groundout by Tanner Dearman.

Zach Beringer took the loss allowed four hits and four runs in 2/3 of a inning pitched.

WSU returns to Missouri Valley Conference action Friday night with a three game series against Indiana State. Friday night’s game start at 7 while Saturday game will now start at 1 p.m. so Shockers fans may enjoy the basketball game later in the day.
