Wichita State baseball drops first game to Sun Devils

WICHITA, Kansas — The Wichita State Shockers lost to #22 Arizona State 4 to 3 Tuesday night in the opening game of a two-game series at Eck Stadium.

Max Rossiter broke a 3-all tie in the ninth inning coming home on a single up the middle by R. J. Ybarra.

WSU got the tying run to third in the bottom of the frame but Micah Green popped up to end the contest.

Albert Minnis (3-3) took the loss for Wichita State. Minnis struck out three and allowed one run on four innings in three innings of work.

The two teams meet in the series finale Wednesday night at Eck Stadium. First pitch is slated for 6:30 p.m.
