Police: Girl’s second degree burns result of child abuse

WICHITA, Kansas — Wichita police are investigating a case of child abuse.

The abuse happened at a home in southwest Wichita over the weekend.

Apparently, a relative was upset that the little girl took food into the living room and poured boiling water on her back and face as a form of discipline.

The father, who picked the girl up from the home, made the discovery.

She was taken to Wesley West Hospital.

Doctors found that the child suffered second degree burns.

Police have not made any arrests.
