Shockers gear up for game against La Salle

LOS ANGELES, California — Wichita State is gearing up for tonight’s game.

The team spent Wednesday in press conferences and practices.

When asked about the future, Shocker Coach Gregg Marshall had this to say.

“We live well in Wichita. We love Wichita. We think it is a good place for us to be there a long time. It has taken care of us. We will deal with anything like that when it comes along. Right now, it is the farthest thing from my mind.”

Right now, it is about getting ready for La Salle.

There was not site seeing for the coach.

“My family is at the Santa Monica Pier, Malibu Beach. They are enjoying that. Not for me. It is not a vacation.”

The Shockers seem ready and are looking ahead.

“It is all about taking care of business, getting focused and getting ready to guard,” said Carl Hall, Wichita State Senior, Forward.

“We really don’t want to think about the past but just remember how we got here that motivates us everyday,” said Chadrack Lufile, Wichita State Junior, Forward.

“Everybody is loving it out here in LA. So you know, we are going to have a good time. If you don’t get pumped up for this, you don’t love the game of basketball,” said Demetric Williams, Wichita State Senior, Guard.

The winner advances to the Elite 8.
