NEWTON, Kansas — Kayla Tillery is facing 12 additional forgery and felony theft charges from the Newton Chamber of Commerce and the “Newton Bucks” fund.
The charges allege Tillery forged checks in the name of the Newton Chamber of Commerce that she stole thousands from the “Newton Bucks” program fund.
A hearing that was scheduled today will now be a first appearance on the charges with a preliminary hearing rescheduled at a later time.
Tillery’s bond has been set in the amount of $75,000.
She remains in the custody of the Harvey County Detention Center.
